After teaching at and managing Dance Space Center, (now Dance New Amsterdam) in New York, Michel moved to Seattle to join the Pat Graney Company. With her business partner KT Niehoff she began Velocity Dance Center in 1996 where she remains on the Board of Directors. She teaches all levels of modern dance at Velocity and is on faculty at Cornish College of the Arts. She spent a year as the Artist In Residence at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts where she taught dance and choreographed work on the students. Michele has spent two summers teaching at Bates dance Festival in Maine, and has also taught at the University of Washington, the University of Montana, the University of Oregon, and Western Washington University.
Michele’s practice of Pilates began in NYC with her training at the Pilates Studio under Cary Regan, Phoebe Higgins and Romana Kryzanowska. She has since deepened her knowledge of form, function, anatomy and re-patternization through extensive self practice, continuing education, and training of instructors.
Michele’s strength and focus is injury rehabilitation, reform patterns of movement, and helping clients to gain energy, ease and vitality as they age.
